Alvin de Castro is an international choreographer now based in Los Angeles offering services for film, television, live events / concerts, music artists, fashion, industrials, dance education and more.

With an art & design background, Alvin is also able to provide unique, innovative and bespoke concepts for his clients, leading production into creating and executing outstanding visuals.

Alvin is passionate about teaching dance and is also available for conventions, intensives, masterclasses and guest classes.


Alvin de Castro is an international Choreographer & Dancer. Originally from Sydney, Australia, Alvin is now based in Los Angeles. 

Alvin featured as a hip-hop choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance Australia seasons 3 & 4, becoming the first “Top 100” contestant on the show to be offered the role of Choreographer whilst on the same season. Other choreography credits include Justice Crew's Hype Tour, winners of Australia’s Got Talent and Hong Kong's megastar G.E.M. in her X.X.X Live World Tour.

Recently, Alvin was a resident choreographer on Danni Minogue's reality TV show Dance Boss and has choreographed a TV commercial for Disney's Club Penguin Island. Other projects include choreography for world renowned artists, Steve Aoki, Daddy Yankee and Grammy Award Winners, Elvis Crespo and Play N Skillz. 

Alvin has also performed for top artists such as Miguel, Dua Lipa, G-Eazy, Dillon Francis and Deorro, Additionally Alvin also worked as a tour dancer for Johnny Ruffo, winner of Dancing with the Stars, and Stan Walker winner of Australian Idol. Other TV credits include dancing on X-Factor Australia, and working with the dancer/actors on Logie Award winning, ABC’s Dance Academy.

Teaching has played an important role in Alvin's earlier dance career having taught at Australia’s most influential dance institutions such as the world prestigious Sydney Dance Company & Brent Street Studios. Recently, Alvin's latest position was Dance Major lecturer at Studio School in downtown Los Angeles. Alvin’s experience has also led him to teach at dance conventions all over Australia and Asia. 

Coming from a Hip-Hop dance crew background, Alvin is the founding director of two-time Australian National Hip Hop Champions, Beatphonik (Battlegrounds 2007 & AHC 2008). His background in both the dance crew scene and industry make him a favorable adjudicator in dance competitions around the world. With over 17 years teaching experience, Alvin is a highly sought after instructor at dance studios & conventions.


Seasons 3 & 4

Alvin became the first top 100 contestant in the entire So You Think You Can Dance franchise to be upgraded to the role of Hip Hop Choreographer whilst on the show.

Choreographer and principal dancer for "Azukita" music video by Steve Aoki and Daddy Yankee ft. Elvis Crespo and Play-N-Skillz, Alvin excels in both leading and performing simultaneously on the job.

The Marketing Guys

"The Marketing Guys" placed second on Dance Boss, an Australian reality tv dance competition presented by Dannii Minogue. Alvin was the appointed Choreographer for the team and worked 5 episodes.

Lost in Your Light Music Video

Upon moving to LA from Australia, Alvin successfully booked his first dance audition as lead dancer for Dua Lipa and Miguel's "Lost in Your Light" music video.

Taco Off - TV Commercial

Dance choreography with food as a product commercial has its own merits and challenges. The ad incorporates a battle between dance teams on who can create the best taco whilst dancing. The job itself was highly rewarding and the visual was outstanding!

World Concert Tour

Working with Gloria Tang, a.k.a. GEM has been one of Alvin's most memorable moments. His choreography played an integral role in the success of the X.X.X. Live world tour which lasted 2 years, selling out shows worldwide at some of the worlds biggest concert venues.
