PROJECT OVERVIEW
A dance-led commercial for Goodman Fielder’s One Night in Mexico, created by The Works Sydney and directed by Ace Norton. Set to Run-DMC vs Jason Nevins’ “It’s Like That,” the spot turns taco preparation into choreography, bringing dancers, ingredients and food into the same movement language.
CHOREOGRAPHY
My involvement began in casting, reviewing audition tapes from dancers across Australia and helping select performers whose individual movement qualities suited the concept.
The choreography extended beyond the dancers to the taco itself. I developed movement around the shape, behaviour and timing of the ingredients, pairing performers and actions so the food remained visually appealing while becoming part of the choreography.
The structure builds like an ensemble coming together: individual dancers, ingredients and actions accumulate toward the finished taco. The result integrates hip-hop choreography, food preparation and camera-specific movement throughout the commercial.
